Ashby has three decades of experience helping early-stage companies bring products and services to market.  Most recently, he helped co-found and served as the manager for EC Investment Partners, LLC, dba Eureka Cultivation, which opened and operated a 270,000-sf cannabis greenhouse in Salinas, California.  Eureka sold out to Curaleaf, a Canadian cannabis company, in early 2019 for $26 million.  He served as Chief Operating Officer for Shoutz, Inc., developer of the lottery industry’s most popular lottery app. He helped found Primary Network Communications, serving as its first president and helped the company grow to offer phone and internet services in five states before being acquired for $145 million in 2000.  He prepared the original business plan for SAVVIS Communications (now part of CenturyLink), and worked with the company through its first $10 million venture round.  Other projects include Great American Barbecue, a USDA processor, that grew to over $20 million in revenue before being acquired.  He has served as an executive coach for the Washington University Olin School of Business “Hatchery” program and is a volunteer teacher for the Urban League’s Save Our Sons adult and high school program, teaching the basics of capitalism.  Ashby attended the University of Missouri St. Louis and University of Missouri Kansas City, studying political theory.
